William Carr
fought in the Indian wars and in the War of 1812.  He was a local Methodist preacher and for many years had his home on Goose Creek, near Hartsville.

At the time of Elizabeth Dobbins Carr's death, her husband William Carr was 62,  the oldest of their 14 children was age 41 & the youngest age 17.

1856 Dec 12, Cannon County, Tennessee (south of Hartsville):  Death of William Carr, age almost 81 (b. Jan 29, 1776)
Cannon County was the residence of one of the family's children. 
"Many of the descendants of William Carr and of his brothers are still living in Sumner County and elsewhere."
